🔴 A disturbing incident involving a police officer and a teenager. has sparked outrage and renewed concerns about police use of force.it was a brutal soccer kick.

🔴Criminal defense lawyer Richard Marsty. argues that the Edmonton police officer involved should face charges after kicking 18-year-old Pacey Dumas in the head during an incident in 2020. The kick left Dumas hospitalized for nine days. during which part of his skull was removed to relieve brain pressure. He now lives with a metal implant. and his life has been permanently altered. Despite the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT). concluding that Constable Ben Todd had committed offenses the Alberta Crown prosecution opted not to press charges. The ASIRT final report highlights how Todd’s actions demonstrated a disturbing lack of judgment and disregard for Dumas’ life. Officers had been responding to reports of a fight and possible possession of a knife. Both Pacey and his brother. Blair willingly left their home and were told to lie on the ground. Pacey was instructed to crawl towards Officer Ben Todd. who claimed he thought Pacey was reaching for a knife. According to the report. Todd warned Dumas to stop moving his hands or he would be kicked in the face. Feeling threatened. the officer kicked Dumas in the head. On Friday Edmonton police chief Dale McPhee. informed the media that Officer Todd is currently suspended with pay while an investigation is ongoing. he got a vacation for kicking a teenager’s head.

🔴at a press conference the family’s lawyer says incidents like this are not a one-time mistake the family is suing the police chief and officers involved for over half a million dollars

🔴Dumas’s Aunt Leanne Ward. says that Pacey has changed since the incident. and that him an his family can’t trust police.

Dumas has lost his brother Blair from suicide he says he needs anxiety medication now and is afraid of the police
