On July 3rd, 2022, officers in Florida responded to a responded to a disturbance at an Exxon gas station. A female suspect was reported to be causing a disturbance at an Exxon gas station after being forced to leave a vehicle with friends. Officers received multiple calls from concerned patrons at the gas station about the female suspect. The suspect, seemingly under the influence of alcohol, was having difficulty standing and required assistance from officers and medical personnel at the gas station.
The situation grew tense as officers attempted to arrest the suspect for disorderly conduct, but the suspect began to resist. The suspect resisted officers’ attempts to handcuff her before eventually being handcuffed. Officers escorted the suspect to a patrol car, where the suspect managed to slip out of her handcuffs twice, as captured on the officer’s body camera. After resecuring the suspect’s handcuffs, she was transported to jail.
The suspect was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting an Officer with Violence, and Resisting an Officer without Violence (Obstruction).
