Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has lamented the state of the Johannesburg Central Business District, describing it as an ’embarrassment’ and ‘eye sore’ that reflects poorly on South Africa’s global image.
Lesufi was speaking during the launch of a multi-stakeholder programme on Friday morning, aimed at rejuvenating the city. The initiative includes enhancing lighting, security and the cleanliness of the city centre.
