Goons vandalised Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College & hospital where a 31-year-old trainee doctor was raped and murdered last week. Her body was found on August 9. Unidentified miscreants entered the state-run hospital and damaged the property. The police said that a group of about 40 people, disguised as protesters, entered the hospital and pelted stones at police personnel. The police fired tear gas in response to the violence that injured several police personnel. The violence came amidst massive protests over the Kolkata rape and murder case. The protesters called for a “Reclaim the Night” campaign with women protesters aligning their stir with the Independence Day celebrations in India.
