Directed by Josh Oreck and Ivan Hurzeler. Additional Camera by George Jenne.
Culled from 240 hours of Hi8 tape, this doc follows the great Officer Bobby Boehem as he works in and out of the Providence police department during 1994. Oreck and Hurzeler had intimate access to many officers and officials, within the headquarters and on patrol, at a time when public officials were not on guard against exposure online. The documentary features a Mayday riot that exploded near the RISD campus, where Oreck and Hurzeler were attending the film school. There’s a lot of perspective, and a generous slice of Providence history in this doc. Thanks for taking a look.
