On August 6th, 2023, an officer in Ohio was on patrol when he spotted two women fighting outside a bar. The women were reportedly grabbing each other’s hair and hitting each other, according to the officer’s report. When the officer activated the patrol car’s lights and sirens, the fight began to disperse as bystanders helped to separate the women. The officer approached a woman sitting nearby who was involved in the fight. The woman stood up and continued to yell, stating she wanted to go home before walking towards the front of the bar. The woman continued to walk towards the front of the bar despite an officer ordering her to stop, leading the officer to detain her and call for backup.
Meanwhile, the second woman involved, who was in an intoxicated state, entered a parked vehicle nearby. Officers attempted to speak with the woman inside the vehicle, but she began arguing with officers and refusing to exit the vehicle. The woman eventually exited the parked vehicle and continued arguing with officers. The woman was issued a Disorderly Conduct citation and released to her sober friend.
As officers placed the detained woman under arrest, she began resisting the officer. After officers placed the suspect in handcuffs, officers escorted her to a patrol car; however, she refused to enter the vehicle. The suspect continued to refuse to enter the patrol car, leading officers to place her inside. Once inside, the suspect removed her handcuffs and continued shouting. The suspect was transported to jail, where she continued arguing with officers before being placed in a cell. The suspect was charged with Disorderly Conduct-Intoxication and Obstructing Official Business.
