As someone who loves Apple culture and what it stands for, Tim Cook is a disgrace to Steve Jobs’s legacy and Apple. He has sold out Apple to China and favors money more than human rights (which is ironic since he is gay and is a big supporter of LGBT rights).
A list of what Apple has done to kiss the ass of China:
– Back in 2017, the Chinese government asked Apple to remove the New York Times app from the Chinese App Store; Apple complied.
– Then, China insisted that Apple remove more than 400 VPN apps from the App Store; Apple did so.
– Afterwards, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security asked Apple to remove Skype; the Cupertino company again did as requested.
– 2017 is a busy year for Apple, because the company also complied by storing user iCloud data on Chinese servers thus raising the risk of the Chinese government stealing and abusing said data
– 2019, it removed access to the Quartz news app, removed the Taiwan flag emoji in Hong Kong, and recently has banned a Hong Kong protest app.
The final straw for me was the HK protest app, which was meant to help protestors avoid police brutality. Instead, Apple sided with the corrupt HK police and removed it.
This is not the Apple I know and love. Apple’s motto is Think Different, but needs to be updated to Think Rich. To champion their new motto (Think Rich, Not Different), I created this video for anyone to share. For those who are reading this and support my views and the people of Hong Kong, share this video with friends and family. Don’t buy any new Apple products and don’t support their streaming services aka Apple Music and the upcoming Apple TV+ (did you know Apple has also asked Apple TV+ content creators not to produce any media that would be deemed offensive to the Chinese?)
As Steve Jobs once said, it wasn’t about being the richest person in the cemetery, rather it was all about creating a dent in the universe. Unfortunately, Tim Cook does not share Steve’s perspective and would rather stand by making money off a regime that wants to kill and silence those are who fighting for their freedom.
