AM Briefing from Bowlersdesk.com for March 3, 2014
San Diego Sheriff’s Homicide is investigating the mysterious death of a man found in an auto shop over the weekend. Several news reports I.D.’d the dead man as Ruben Bodden. Bodden is thought to be linked to the 2013 murder of two teens at Oceanside’s Libby Lake Park. One of the suspects under arrest for the double murder is named Brian Bodden, and is believed to be Ruben’s son. The search for the suspect involved in the elder Bodden’s death is on-going and anyone with any info should contact the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Today at 10:00 AM Kevin Faulconer will be inaugurated as San Diego’s new mayor. Faulconer beat out David Alvarez for the seat in a 53% to 47%. After today’s inauguration San Diego City Council will declare Faulconer’s seat on the council vacant and begin the process of appointing someone to fill it. One catch is that the council does not want to appoint anyone that is planning on running for the seat after this term is up. Faulconer gave the Chief of Staff job to his Campaign Manager Stephen Puetz, and will be naming other appointments soon.
At 2:00 this afternoon San Diego City Council is meeting and the big thing on the agenda are new regulations for food trucks.
Then at 7:00 tonight San Diego Unified School District trustee John Lee Evans is hosting a community forum on the district’s plan for the future called “Vision 2020”.

And in Chula Vista’s courthouse Robbie Gillespie is being sentenced for crashing into a Poway Fire Department car killing a 19-year-old aspiring model.
The San Diego Trolley is getting another vintage trolley car to put into service today. The 1946 Presidents Conference Committee trolley car is arriving at the 12th and Imperial trolley yard at 1:30 for restoration. The Municipal Transit System traded two of its modern decommissioned trolley cars for the antique.
