Aerial images show a large roadblock across the key M4 highway in Idlb province near the village of Al-Nayrab in Syria. The giant trench dug across the road connecting the Idlib crossroads town of Saraqib with coastal Latakia appeared overnight, less than a day after Russia and Turkey launched a first but brief joint military patrol along the road following a ceasefire agreement earlier this month. Several hundred pro-rebel demonstrators took to the highway near Al-Nayrab on Sunday to protest the patrol, setting tyres ablaze and piling tree branches across the thoroughfare.
