Assam Police has launched its third special drive to combat child marriage, registering 345 cases and making 431 arrests. This initiative, part of a larger effort to eradicate child marriage by 2025, follows previous drives in 2023 that resulted in thousands of cases and arrests. The crackdown has also led to a significant decrease in maternal and child mortality rates in the state, showing progress in both social and public health reforms. The state’s continued commitment to this cause is yielding positive results.
