“It’s our responsibility, duty and obligation to visit all the troops in hospital, wish them well and express our thanks and appreciation for the sacrifices they have made, and to bring them small tokens of appreciation. We say thank you, on behalf of ATMIS, the African Union, and also on behalf of the Somalis because these sacrifices that they are making are on behalf of our mission mandate in Somalia, and also on behalf of the continent. These are young people who are carrying a huge burden for the continent, and we wanted to thank them and recognise them.”
