Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit deputies investigating a narcotics complaint on Pio Nono Avenue initiated a traffic stop on a Honda Accord. The driver sped away from patrol units reaching speeds of up to 100 m.p.h. Deputies performed a PIT maneuver near Emory Avenue and the driver jumped from the vehicle with a pistol in hand and attempted to run away but was arrested. The female passenger was also taken into custody and deputies discovered a toddler in the back seat that was not visible due to window tint. The child was checked out by EMS at the scene as a precaution. Deputies recovered illegal drugs and other items associated with the sale of narcotics in the area where the child was seated. The firearm possessed by the driver was illegally modified with a “Glock switch” to make it fully automatic. The male, who is just 17 years old, also had an active warrant through Bibb County for battery-family violence. Both the teenage driver and mother were transported to the BCSO Law Enforcement Center. #SwornToProtect #BCSOStrong
