State Deputy Secretary of Indhu Makkal Katchi, Udaiyar, has been arrested by Palayamkottai police for allegedly saying that the BJP would not take root in Tamil Nadu unless “”riots are orchestrated.””
The action was taken after an audio tape of a purported telephonic conversation between Udaiyar and a BJP functionary was leaked on social media. In the audio tape, Udaiyar is heard expressing his frustration over the defeat of the BJP and its allies’ candidates in all Parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu.
