On 13-01-15 whilst we where at the Atherstone Hunt, corrupt pro-hunt PC Greg Rawisinski from Leicestershire Police arrives and after having a friendly conversation with a hunt supporter approaches our car. When asked the reason for being stopped, he said we were disrupting the hunt. We pointed out that this wasn’t illegal. He then said that the driver was causing a breach of the peace and causing chaos & mayhem! We are not sure how someone can cause a breach of the peace by just sitting in a car, or how they can cause chaos & mayhem either, for that matter! The driver was then arrested for breach of the peace. Whilst in the police car, the policeman said he knew why we were there and that we were disrupting the hunt. It was again pointed out that it isn’t illegal to disrupt a hunt. He then replied that he’d seen our videos and the danger we put ourselves in and that it was our fault we were attacked. The driver pointed out that it was the hunt who were the ones being violent to us, that we had every right to be there and that it should be the hunt who were being arrested for breach of the peace. He then said that they have permission to hunt on the land and that he knew the landowners personally. No hidden interests then! He then recommended that the driver stick to writing petitions to MPs,not that his opinion was asked for. The driver was then de-arrested, probably after the police realised the arrest wasn’t lawful. The policeman then went back to finish his conversation with the hunt supporter, who told him the hunt had moved off.
