Speaking outside Scotland Yard on Monday, Britain’s most senior police officer Sir Mark Rowley said Martyn Blake had made “a split-second decision on what he believed was necessary to protect his colleagues and to protect London”.
Following a trial at the Old Bailey, a jury acquitted Mr Blake of murder, after deliberating for around three-and-a-half hours on Monday.
