In my short time at NBC 38, I’ve made an immediate impact by breaking several high profile stories. I was the first to report the news on the fatal shooting at University Heights, killing two former Auburn University football players, current freshman quarterback Zeke Pike’s arrest for public intoxication, the Harvey Updyke case and the poisoned trees at Toomer’s Corner, the four Auburn University football players arrested for an alleged armed robbery, and Auburn University Assistant Head Coach Trooper Taylor and his family suing the Auburn City School system for racial discrimination.
My coverage on these stories has led to contributing appearances on CNN, The Paul Finebaum Radio Network, Fox Sports Radio 1410 in Hartford, Connecticut, Sports Radio 97.3 The Zone in Birmingham, Cubelic and the Kid on 97.7 in Huntsville, and WUMP also in Huntsville, Alabama.
Through my networking skills, I also interviewed Cam Newton in an exclusive sit-down interview after his NFL Pro Day in Auburn in 2011, and an exclusive interview with current wide receiver Quan Bray, after Bray’s father allegedly shot and killed Bray’s mother before the 2011 football season.
