On September 1, 2023. An officer from the Gibraltar Police Department responded to a restaurant after an anonymous caller reported a disorderly male (Jeffrey) in the dining room, swearing and yelling. The caller stated that she believed that the male subject would become physically violent. When the officer arrived, he was informed by a customer that Jeffrey stated he had a gun on him. Jeffrey was asked to exit the restaurant to speak with the law enforcement officers which he agreed to. A firearm was removed from Jeffrey’s right Hip when he exited the building and he appeared to be slightly unsteady on his feet, had slowed/slurred speech, and officers could smell a light odor of intoxicating beverages on his breath. Jeffery stated that he and his girlfriend were having a conversation about his brother who he had personal issues with and raised his voice, but claimed he never said anything about a firearm. Jeffery was asked to do a breathalyzer test which he refused and was placed into custody. He was found guilty for Carrying a Handgun where Alcohol is Sold/Consumed, He was ordered to pay a $500 fine.
