On September 23, 2023, an off-duty officer was working at a high school homecoming dance when a fight broke out between two students. After that ended, one of the boys was detained and questioned on how the situation escalated, when suddenly his intoxicated father enters and starts barking demands at the off-duty officer to release his son. Which was then followed by an altercation and arrest of the dad. When on-duty officers arrive they question the off-duty cop and then the father.
