During one of the coldest nights of that winter of December 11th, 2013, thousands of riot police tried to storm the main EuroMaidan protesters camp and clear the Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square in Kyiv, Ukraine. One barricade was destroyed, all other hold as more and more Kyiv residents came to support those who stayed on the Maidan overnight. At 9:00 AM the attack stopped, as riot police saw they can’t win.
This video shows the protesters protecting the major barricade on Instytuska Street at 3:30 AM. The protesters wearing plastic construction worker’s and ski helmets formed a human support chain against riot police that pressed to destroy the barricade from the opposite side of it.
