A Florida Black Lives Matter chapter wants four Lakeland officers arrested and a new police chief removed following a beating of a man in their custody.
Polk County Black Lives Matter is demanding the U.S. federal Department of Justice launch an investigation and arrest four Lakeland police officers: Dillion Cornn, Anton Jefferson, Jason McCain, and Sgt, and remove the newly appointed Police Chief Sammy Taylor following the shocking incident.
Officer Eby stopped Antwan Glover for possible controlled substances on December 18.
When the officers tried to remove a bag from Glover’s possession, they started punching Glover.
Lakeland police said there’s an ongoing internal investigation into the incident. The department policy allows 180 days to close a review.
