An Orlando police officer was relieved of duty after being accused of reckless driving and fleeing a traffic stop. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said Officer Alexander Shaouni was driving 80 mph in a 45-mph zone in a marked patrol SUV on June 6. Shaouni initially refused to stop for the deputy but eventually exited his vehicle after the deputy blocked him. Shaouni got into a brief altercation with the deputy saying he was heading to work. The deputy asked for his driver’s license but he refused to give it to the deputy and went back into his vehicle. He then drove away from the stop. The incident is under investigation.
