In July 2018, Residents of Geraldton in Western Australia were asked to stay alert as police search for ten prison escapees. Police urged the public to lock doors and windows — drivers were warned to keep their car doors locked. Extra resources were sent from Perth, including the Tactical Response Group and the canine section, to support local officers. All inmates were arrested within 48 hours.
