KULT News went to Haight-Ashbury and checked out the local hippies but only after we audited the nearby towns of Fairfield and Brentwood, CA.
We audited four banks/credit unions and, sadly, three of the four seemed to think public photography wasnt entirely legal and at least one of them called 911 on us.
Would the responding officers respect our rights or violate them?

Often using police body camera footage, 911 call recordings, and covert camera angles, with a few laughs thrown in, KULT News is a First Amendment audit channel you won’t soon forget. Enjoy the deer-in-the-headlights looks as incompetent cops see a mild-mannered citizen just out taking photos turn into a news reporter well-versed on his Constitutional rights right before their eyes.

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
