Hope

I’m not usually one to join in on political banter or voice in on social media, however, it’s a time where people of all kinds (rightfully so) do not feel safe in their own home or even country. Friends and family members are turning on one another, and difference of opinion and freedom of speech has escalated to violence and killing for sport. If you ask me, terrorists don’t need to do a thing, we are doing it to each other in our own homeland.

I’d like to believe there is a better future ahead for our children. After every dark valley comes a mountain. When our nation was torn apart by the events of 9/11, Americans of every ethnic background, sexual orientation, and religion – walked hand in hand as Americans to show our unity so we could come back with a vengeance. It was a pitfall that lead to the United States being exactly that; United. I am not claiming that these recent events are the same as 9/11, but still just another horrible time that will be in our country’s history. Remember the good that we do have in the world, and hopefully this dark place we are in will lead to a brighter beginning with the effort from us all.

I can easily say and believe that ALL lives matter, but not all of us are broken right now. An individual said it best when they said “this is like going to a doctor with a broken arm, then having the doctor tell me “all bones matter” well yes they do, but can we focus on the broken one right now?” Black lives are being threatened and they are angry: let’s help build them back up and answer some of their cries. Muslims are suddenly accused of all terror: let’s embrace them and make them feel safe. The LGBT community gets ridiculed for loving who they choose: let’s let them decide and not pass judgement. Police officers worry every time they kiss their child goodbye for a shift at work, that it may be their last: let’s follow protocol and understand that they entered that dangerous career to be on the front line of helping anyone who may need it. There are so many more circumstances I could list, but we can take it one step at a time. There is corruption or a corrupt individual in any line of work, group of people, or religious organization. Stop labeling everyone for the poor decisions of a few. When someone says “black lives matter”, they are not saying others do not, and if I support our law enforcement, that does not mean I am a racist. The superiority needs to stop, and let equality and love take over.

This is simply a little video I put together of pictures I have seen that restore my faith in humanity. We are all human beings with families, significant others, and children.

Please, if you choose to post, post something positive that someone different from you has done to make a positive impact in your life. I will choose to delete the negative, I am pushing for us all as a human race and truly praying for the peace of us all.
