Our Head of Public Policy Tim Dieppe spoke to GB News about how introducing the APPG definition of ‘Islamophobia’ as a response to violence in Southport and across the nation would be the end of free speech and honest critique of Islam as a religion. The mention of historical events such as ‘spreading Islam by the sword’ or facts relating to Muhammad would be considered Islamophobic.
“A good term to use is ‘anti-Muslim’ rather than ‘Islamophobia’. You’ve got to be able to criticise the ideology while saying anti-Muslim prejudice against the people is wrong.”
With a majority parliament of Labour MPs who’ve agreed to abide by the APPG definition of ‘Islamophobia’, the future of free speech in the UK is under certain threat.
