Jordan saw a poster for our Public Silence; Police Violence action and joined us hours after being beaten badly and slurred by Toronto Police after getting “lippy” when invasively strip searched, i.e. contempt of cop. (His initial “crime”? Public intoxication.) Jordan’s wounds looked eerily similar to Chris Gardian’s, the man whose one year death anniversary after a beating by an adjacent police division we were honoring.
