The Berta Cáceres Human Rights in Honduras Act H.R. 1299, would stop US tax dollars from going to the Honduran military and police. It’s widely documented that they are deeply corrupt and commit grave human rights violations. Water protectors in Honduras are threatened and killed just for protecting water. There’s even strong evidence to suggest that high ranking military officials are implicated in the death of Berta Cáceres.
