Recently, we’ve shown you some pretty cool videos with pursuits, K9 tracks, and arrests. But we really do so much more that goes unseen. I thought I would share the more compassionate side of one of our deputies who was on a traffic stop when he was flagged down by a subject asking for Narcan. This deputy acts fast and uses his Narcan to save the life of a subject that overdosed in his car. Take a look.
At this point, the deputy provided two doses of Narcan but for several minutes, the subject is unresponsive with a fading pulse.
After about 15 minutes, the subject becomes conscious.
In the end, the subject refused to go to the hospital even though it was recommended after experiencing a near-death overdose. These events happen too often. Please, if you or a loved one struggles with an addiction, seek help so this doesn’t happen. Great job to this deputy who showed compassion and saved this guys life.
