POLICE Minister Nathi Mthethwa decided to spend the 2012 Christmas weekend in KwaZulu-Natal, visiting police stations, malls, townships and roadblocks around the province with an entourage of senior officers.
Roadblocks were set up in and around Pietermaritzburg, including in Mountain Rise, Plessislaer and the CBD, with vehicles randomly checked for roadworthiness, drunk drivers and previous traffic offences.
