La’nisha Hemingway, a recent high school graduate, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city of North Myrtle Beach after police allegedly detained and handcuffed her at gunpoint during a traffic stop. Hemingway claims the officers pulled her over based on a faulty license plate reader notification and that they never apologized for the incident.
