Seven illegal immigrants have been arrested on the N2 in Gqeberha during the Operation Basadi roadblock, led by Eastern Cape Police Commissioner Nomthetheleli Mene.
The operation forms part of the ongoing Safer Festive Season campaign.
The provincial Commissioner has also noted the growing concern of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in the Eastern Cape.
