PROACTIVE OPERATION “FOREST FIRE” NETS 16 ARRESTS

Last weekend, several deputies, drug agents and detectives participated in a proactive detail called “Operation Forest Fire” in the Forest District focusing on wanted subjects and areas of thefts and burglaries. During the detail, units conducted 29 traffic stops, issued 12 warnings, 8 citations and made 16 arrests. One of those arrests was for Christopher Kyle Crenshaw (DOB: 07/21/1985). Detective Jason Hunt observed a driver, later identified as Crenshaw, traveling north on Highway 314A. Crenshaw was driving recklessly and his tag was expired and not assigned to his vehicle. Detective Hunt attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Crenshaw’s vehicle and Crenshaw fled at a high rate of speed. Several other deputies joined in on the pursuit and stop sticks were successfully deployed. Crenshaw then exited his vehicle through the truck’s front window and fled into a residential area. Deputies then set up a perimeter and MCSO K9 Deputy Alan Lee and his partner, K9 “Zeus” responded to begin the track. K9 Zeus located Crenshaw in a small shed on a property at the 25200th block of NE 132nd Street and Crenshaw was taken into custody without incident. Crenshaw was arrested and charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure, Resisting an Officer without Violence, Fleeing and Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer with Lights and Sirens Activated, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle and Driving while License Suspended or Revoked.

SOME NOTES ABOUT THE VIDEO:
-At the conclusion of the pursuit, deputies located a dog abandoned in Crenshaw’s truck. We believe Crenshaw had the dog in the car with him during the entire pursuit.

-You will also see that some people began to exit their house and walk around as K9 Deputy Lee and his partner Zeus were tracking in the area. If you see law enforcement in your neighborhood, please stay inside your home where it is safest. Our wonderful K9s are true working dogs and they need their space to work and find the bad guys!

GREAT JOB and THANK YOU to everyone involved in this proactive operation!!
