KOTA KINABALU: A man who rammed through a movement control order (MCO) roadblock was arrested after a high-speed chase that lasted over an hour this morning. Police said the 26-year-old man, who was travelling with a woman and her baby girl, had a prior conviction for narcotics. A police patrol car (MPV) spotted the car at Kampung Cenderakasih in Kolombong near here at 1.30am and attempted to intercept it to question the occupants. Instead of slowing down, the driver tried to ram the police car before speeding off. A chase ensued with the police trailing the car from Jalan Lintas here to the Penampang district and then to the city centre. At this point, four other MPVs and seven traffic policemen joined in the pursuit. Police said the driver again tried to ram the police cars and also went against the flow of traffic.
