A woman called the fire dept. after a male cousin was kicked out of her garage. He was angry and came back and started a fire next to her house and a vehicle. He also stole tools and a trash can.
Officers were searching for him in the neighborhood. MAST was requested.
The suspect was seen destroying vegetation in a front yard on Hilltop and Dassco St. The suspect then hid behind a bush and a San Diego K-9 officer was pointed towards the suspect and warned the man was armed with a handheld saw. The K-9 officer detained and attempted to take the suspect into custody when the suspect started resisting. More officers swarmed in the suspect grabbed a large rock and attempted hit an officer. The suspect also bit an officer in the hand.
The suspect was finally subdued, and put into a body wrap and spit sock. A crowd developed at the scene with half of the residents supporting the officers’ actions and the other half against the officers’ actions.
