Hungarian authorities have visited Spain to find out about its border control devices in order to apply it in their territory and thus prevent the influx of refugees. This visit coincided with the closing of the “Tarajal” case.
On February 6, 2014, at least 15 migrants died on the beach of Tarajal, on the border between the Spanish city of Ceuta and Morocco. Spanish security forces used rubber bullets and riot gear on defenseless people who were trying to swim to the European shore. The case has been closed without any police or political leader assuming responsibility for these acts.
