A Texas DPS trooper made a major drug bust last week when he pulled over a SUV on US-90 in Uvalde County. The trooper noticed several illegal immigrants bail out of the SUV and run into the brush. With the assistance of Border Patrol, two of the immigrants were apprehended. When their backpacks were searched, authorities found they were filled with methamphetamine. The driver of the SUV, a man from Houston, was arrested and faces criminal charges for human smuggling and engaging in organized crime.
