Always Question the Police – Always film every interaction you have with the Police.
This is illegal harassment of innocent people under the guise of security and safety. It’s theater. It’s the Police state. RoadBlocks DO NOT WORK. Never sacrifice Freedoms to gain Safety (real or false) EVER.
Not on tape is the first officer asking me “Where are you coming from, where are you headed?” I told him it was none of his business. he asked again “Where are you coming from?” and warned me if I didn’t answer his question I would have to pull ahead into “secondary” I denied his irrelevant question again and told him that I hadn’t had anything to drink tonight. He ignored this and told me to pull over. I pulled into secondary and then began my filming when he and the supervising constable came to my window.
I was polite as can be while being harassed until the conclusion of their “investigation” where I then express my opinion on the event.
The only thing I regret is not yelling at the supervising constable for berating me on not being “polite” enough for him. I’m trying to travel home and you have illegally detained me. That is NOT polite.
Dear VPD,
This behaviour is unjust and rude. Your system is faulty if to save the few you must punish the many. I’ve recently tried to open a dialog with you about my rights during these situations with little success. The truth is I (we) have none.
I will show you my licence / answer questions related to my sobriety / and IF instructed, use your Breathalyzer test (AGAINST MY WILL) and nothing else.
All other questions are improper and will treated as such.
**PLEASE review your questioning guidelines and PLEASE instruct your officers to NOT LIE**
Ironically I spent the evening with friends discussing past roadblock experiences, how we all distrust and find ZERO value in police and how we are generally losing more and more freedoms everyday here in Canada. We ended on a high note thinking that it isn’t all that bad – – BUT I SPOKE TOO SOON. it’s almost 4am and I’m shaking and typing this.
You are causing more damage than you know.
