On January 28th, 2023, Monroe County Sheriff’s officers responded to a domestic battery incident at a local seafood restaurant. A man reported an argument with his ex-girlfriend, who later appeared and became agitated, resisting arrest and eventually being handcuffed. Despite the officers’ attempts to de-escalate the situation, the woman continued to defy them, claiming she was wrongly accused and treated unfairly. She was ultimately charged with disorderly intoxication, battery, and resisting an officer, and was transported to the Plantation Key Jail.
